Feeding on a wood pigeon

Hi there, we have Kestrals & Sparrow Hawks in the island. I believe this is a Sparrow Hawk. It had caught this wood pigeon and decided to then drag it into the hedge where it then continued to eat it. We watched this for a good hour until it took flight after someone had disturbed it by walking close by.
On the home front, we a lovely family group of Garden Sparrows that breed every. The baby ones are usually sitting on the wall, feathers all fluffed up, waiting to be fed by their parents but a couple of years ago i actually had one of these Sparrow Hawks pluck either a baby sparrow or adult from my garden bench outside, poor little thing didnt have a chance but after all thats nature for you isnt it... 
Your right when animal lovers speak the same language, we live and learn dont we even when it comes to others.............. Cheers! 
Just found out that this is a Eurasian Sparrowhawk

What, no dolphins!!  ......Maybe next time ay!  
Hasnt been much of a summer this year but Friday was one of the best days we have had this summer. Only 4 months till xmas!

Earlier in the day at approx 1500hrs my friend had a report from her brother that approx 15 bottlenose dolphins had been seen in St Brelades Bay feeding amongst the rocks and after half an hour they gradually made their way in the direction of Corbiere. This evening, i decided to take a drive up to Corbiere and what a beautiful evening it was
